Fashion Illustration!

On Friday we did some fashion illustrations where someone stood up on the table and we had no more than 5 minutes to do quick line drawings to get the shape of the figure and clothes.

This was my favourite exercise. I feel that this layout of the page would look really well in a aketchbook.

We switched from pencil to charcoal to paint.

I really enjoyed this day, it helped me to draw fast and to notice the figures rather than the light and shade.

Pulling more shapes...

And we're pulling shapes again...but this time from the stand. We used the photographs of the brown paper on the mannequins to find more shapes and apply them to more croquis....

These are some images from my sketchbook....

The shapes that i pulled created some very interesting and unusual shapes when applied to the body.

Mannequins and Brown paper! :)

I had my shapes cut out of brown paper in various sizes, now it was time to pin them on the mannequin and see what form they took. I really enjoyed this part because it was interesting to see how the shapes looked manipulated in different ways on the body. I photographed my work as i went along

These are a few of my pieces in brown paper.
